Adult Social Care Learning is a programme developed by Skills for Progress, an organisation which initially began during the pandemic to help people who had been made redundant to develop, or retrain, and get back into work.
Since then, Skills for Progress have continued to help hundreds of people to progress, delivering consistent training with over 95% positive feedback. Years of experience in delivering nation-wide programmes has led them to develop a unique training approach which has been proven to make a real, positive, difference to people’s learning.
Skills for Progress aims to provide a truly personalised approach to learning and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for the non-regulated adult social care workforce.
Our Mission
Adult Social Care Learning specifically helps non-regulated adult care staff to develop their careers. We provide specialised mental health training designed to increase their skills around person-centred care using evidence based interventions. Our commitment to workforce development sees adult social care staff gaining accredited qualifications, thereby empowering them to combine long-term career goals with consistently providing high-quality care.
‘Over 1000 trained mental health specialists in the adult social care sector’
We want to empower to UK Adult social care workforce to specialise in mental health care and support: 1 in 4 adults will experience a mental health problem, and we want to overcome this statistic. In a 2024 study by IPSOS, mental health was identified as a top 5 health concern by 31 countries globally, above cancer, obesity and drug abuse. ASCL will positively impact the landscape through training excellence in mental health understanding and support.
