Step 2: Apply for onboarding onto the system

This flowchart explains the onboarding process in stages, you will note the acronym SRO, this is the ‘Senior Responsible Officer’. As you go through the onboarding process you will be asked to appoint this person from within your organisation. The SRO will be responsible for signing the grant determination letters on the claims system. You should decide who within your organisation will take this role before your onboarding call.

The onboarding flowchart for applications

To have an active claims account, you must first apply directly to the NHSBSA via their onboarding form. They will then contact you so that you can begin your online claims application for each learner you put through the training via the claims portal.

This form should take around 5 minutes to complete. Your information will remain confidential, and will only be viewed by the NHSBSA and DHSC teams who may contact you to onboard you onto the service.
